Canon sells a similar product: "Canon Timer Remote Controller TC-80N3" which costs a ridiculous $150, and this seemed to be a viable alternative. I really need a timer remote and was hoping that all the other people that had problems with this product were wrong. However they weren't, it will not fire my EOS 40D.

The problem with this product is the connector. This product uses the Canon EOS N3 style connector, but the shaft is not long enough to engage the pins that are in the camera body (see the pics I uploaded). As a result, the timer remote's signal doesn't ever reach the camera body, and no pictures are taken. You can occasionally force a connection by pressing the connector in really hard, but this is unreliable and impractical.

If the connector would actually connect, this product would go from a 1 star to a 5 star. The product feels good in my hand, has plenty of features, and it seems well construction for a $20 item. I purchased this from BestDealUSA via Amazon, and it arrived very quickly, too bad the product has a design flaw.

I received the "Shoot" branded version of this product (I've seen several versions of what look like identical products with different names printed on them). The product box was labeled "Shoot Remote Cord" and came with a bar code label that read: "TIMER REMOTE RS-80N3 For Canon EOS 50D 40D 30D 1D etc." The bar code was: 7-338703-429235.

This product was shipped faulty... the LCD panel did not show the number of shutter count in top RHS corner.... I sold it off at half the price I got it for . One cannot use a faulty/malfunctioning equipment on field... The product was branded as 'SHOOT'...

Does not work with Canon 7D, the connector does not hold tight enough to trigger shutter release. Quality of construction is poor, battery ran out very quickly. Let me down three times (three strikes and into the trash can...).

The timer can be set anywhere from 1 second to 99 hours, 59 minutes, 59 seconds. The remote has a stylish and ergonomic design, making it a pleasure to use. It has a super large LCD screen.
