This does a good job for light work. Don't use it for thick branches. Our church ruined two identical models within a short time. The yard person apparently tried to cut too many branches with a single pass. In both cases the gear drive had broken cogs. This might not have happened if B&D used a heavier gear wheel. Amazon purchase.

BOUGHT AND USED THIS PRODUCT FOR THE FIRST TIME YESTERDAY. IT WORKS GREAT. IT IS HARDER FOR IT TO CUT CLARISSA HOLLY BUT I BELIEVE THAT IS MORE THE CHARACTERISTIC OF THE HOW THE PLANT GROWS RATHER THAN THE TRIMMER ITSELF. I PREVIOUSLY HAD AN 18" AND, IN COMPARISON, THE ONLY FAULT I FOUND WITH THIS PRODUCT IS THAT THE TRIGGER LOCK MECHANISM DISCONNECTS VERY EASILY. YOU HAVE TO MAKE SURE YOUR FINGER IS NOWHERE NEAR THE TRIGGER WHICH WILL UNLOCK IT. I'M SURE I WILL GET USED TO IT BUT MY PREVIOUS B&D 18" HAD TO BE PURPOSELY RELEASED. SEVERAL PRIOR REVIEWS MENTIONED A DRAWBACK OF THE EXTENSION CORD CONTINUING TO FALL OUT. THIS MODEL CONTAINS A CORD LOCK WHICH COMPLETELY PREVENTS THIS. THE CORD CAN NOT FALL OUT EVEN IF YOU TRIED. THERE IS A SPACE TO INSERT A SHORT PIECE OF THE EXTENSION CORD UNDER THE HANDLE AND A CORD RETAINER OVER WHICH A LOOP OF CORD SHOULD BE SECURED. IT IS IMPOSSIBLE TO COME UNPLUGGED FROM THE TRIMMER ONCE THIS IS DONE.
